Dr Bike and Bike Security Marking at Woodley

It was a chilly morning when the My Journey team turned up in Woodley precinct with Dr Bike and smoothie bike to join the community engagement team, local police and cleaner and greener for a community event on Wednesday 24 October… brrr!

The chill didn’t put people off turning up with their bikes to take advantage of free bike security marking and checks, and 14 bikes received some much needed tlc before they wended their way back home with a new zest for riding life.  The team engaged with 45 residents plus 15 children to give advice and information, including hi-vis freebies to keep them visible as pedestrians and cyclists, essential with the clock going back at the weekend.

The cold also didn’t put off the brave few that used pedal power to blend a delicious berry fruit smoothie and enjoyed the exercise to benefit their health and wellbeing on a definitively autumnal day with summer receding into all our memories!
