Floreat Montague Primary School Beat the Street Winners Assembly

On the 15 September, Floreat Montague Primary School received their certificate, trophy and their £550 worth of vouchers from Alison from Beat the Street. The school were the total points winner of the competition. They were the outright winner on total points and came second on average points.

Beat the Street is an evidence based intervention, designed to increase activity levels across the community. It connects players with their local environment and supports long term behaviour change by making physical activity an enjoyable, integral part of every day life. Game players were encouraged to earn points by walking, running, scooting, cycling or rolling between Beat Boxes, spending more time with family and friends in green spaces and travelling actively to work and school. The game took place across Wokingham town centre, Woosehill and Finchampstead from 8 June to 20 July 2021.

The pupils and their families said how much they had enjoyed playing the game and had continued to walk, cycle and scoot to school after the game had finished. Well done Floreat Montague!!

Other runners up of Beat the Street included Wescott Infant School who achieved 3rd place on average points, Nine Mile Ride Primary School who were 2nd on total points and Evendons Primary School who were 3rd on total points.
