Launch of the Wokingham Air Quality Project at Floreat Montague Park Primary School, Wescott Infant School and Windmill Primary School
We recently held assemblies to launch our air quality project at Floreat Montague Park Primary School, Wescott Infant. School and Windmill Primary School
The schools have all had diffusion tubes installed around their school sites which measure Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) gas. This is a harmful pollutant which is produced when you burn fossil fuels and comes predominately from transport. The main focus of the project is to improve air quality around the Borough and promote the many benefits of walking, cycling, and scooting, to school.
Wescott Infant School have been very busy with their school travel plan and have managed to achieve a silver award through the Modeshift STARS accreditation, and they will receive £2,000 for their school to spend on promoting active travel. Well done to Wescott Infant School!
We are working on developing the schools' travel plans using Modeshift STARS accreditation. If you want to know more about Modeshift STARS and the benefits of having a school travel plan please click here.
