Maiden Erlegh Cycle Event on 15th May 2018
My Journey team supported a community event for Maiden Erlegh outside Tesco Express on Tuesday 15th May. With good weather and warm sunshine a rather large crowd gathered round both the community wardens, PCSO's from Thames Valley and Dr Bike to get their bikes security marked (a grand total of 57!) and a maintenance check to improve safety.
Mainly students from Maiden Erlegh School took advantage of this free service and politely queued for their turn whilst the team engaged with them and provided high-vis items such as snapbands and rucksack covers to keep them visible while cycling.
The 2 hours flew by and My Journey information was handed out, with a few mums keen to join one of the Breeze led rides and sign up for adult cycling training too. Many thanks to Tesco Express for allowing us to use their car park and apologies to any inconvenience caused to those drivers trying to park... you should have come by bike!
A quote from a resident who attended the event
Many thanks for organizing a fantastic event for Maiden Erlegh this afternoon. I took my bike to be marked up and was impressed with the range of services and information available. A really fantastic community event and well organized.
