The 7-Day Family Walking Tracker

Walking doesn’t have to mean long routes or big plans. Sometimes it’s the small, regular walks that make the biggest difference to your health and wellbeing.

That’s why we’ve created the 7-Day Family Walking Tracker - a simple, printable sheet to help you notice and celebrate the walks you already do as a family - because every step counts.

What is the 7-Day Walking Tracker?

The tracker covers one week, from Monday to Sunday.

After each walk, children can tick a box and write or draw something they noticed. This might be where they walked, what the weather was like, or something fun or interesting they saw along the way.

You could keep it on the fridge or kitchen table so it’s easy to come back to each day.

 How can families use it?

You can use the tracker in whatever way works for you. For example:

  • Walking to school one or two days a week
  • Going for a short walk after dinner
  • Getting outside at the weekend

Some days you might walk. Some days you might not. That’s okay.

Writing or drawing about a walk helps children remember it and feel proud of what they’ve done. It also gives families a chance to talk together about their day.

Over time, these small moments can help walking feel like a normal part of the week, rather than something extra to think about.

To celebrate those little wins, we’ve also created a printable certificate for young walkers who make every step count.

You can download both the Walking Tracker activity sheet and the certificate in the Related downloads section.
