Winnersh Triangle Sustainability Day

In an increasingly busy world but also environmentally conscious world, it is important that we consider how we travel and if we can do this in a more sustainable way. As well as the small local journeys that we make, we should also reflect on the most common commute we make, into work. In order to promote this, the My Journey team worked alongside Frasiers Property to organise a Sustainability Day for all the businesses and staff within Winnersh Triangle Business Park.

On Wednesday, 1st May the My Journey team were at Winnersh Triangle Business Park for a day of promoting alternatives to the single use car journey. As well as information on public transport, the My Journey team also brought along their smoothie bike, helping to provide a refreshing side to active travel. In order to promote the free loan bikes that the park provides, My Journey also ran a team building race for the staff to do on the bikes themselves. Dr Bike was also a welcome presence giving out free bike checks to staff, and Safer Roads ran a racing competition as well as giving out important advice.

In addition to My Journey, the staff at Fraisers also organised food trucks with delicious Mexican treats and an eye opening live BMX bike show. The three athletes demonstrated an array of fantastic tricks and jumps which left many hearts in the spectator’s mouths and helped close the day in spectacular fashion.
