Woky Wheels 4 All

Thursday 18 October sadly saw the last session for this year of Woky Wheels For All… good news being that we will start up again next Spring when the weather is picking up.  This year has been very successful with group progression in learning new skills, increasing stamina and cycling away from the track at FBC and round California Country Park.  All participants made great strides in achieving potential with improving their cycling, on the trikes and 2 wheelers, to the extent that they all passed Bikeability Level 1 by the finish (including carers!).

We were lucky enough to have a visitor for the session, Natalie (Zebra on a Bike) who earlier this year took on a mammoth challenge to cycle 5000 miles round the UK coastline on her recumbent trike, and push herself to the limits with disabilities and pain to raise awareness of her condition Ehlers-danlos. Thank you very much to Natalie for giving her time to join in the ride and hand out the certificates during the presentation at the end, where beaming smiles lit up the autumn day on receiving recognition of the enormous achievement the group has made with cycling.

We are looking forward to next year’s sessions where the group can work towards Level 2 Bikeability and a big thank you to instructor Gary, who’s encouragement and skills made it all possible.
