Clean Air Day - 17th June 2021
On Thursday, 17th June, the My Journey team together with Beat the Street were in Elms Field to celebrate Clean Air Day. This is a national event where communities, businesses, schools, and the health sector all come together to build awareness of air pollution.
Between 4-6pm, we organised a number of activities to promote sustainable and clean air friendly travel. Our Dr Bike mechanic was there providing a free bike check to help facilitate more summer riding. As part of our Beat the Street campaign, which has been a resounding success, encouraging many to walk and collect points, we also ran an additional nature bingo competition. This had some of the must win prizes of the moment, the Beat the Street mascot called Beattie who is a soft toy hedgehog.
Finally we also set up a unique orienteering treasure hunt over Elms Field, which proved to be extremely popular, with many happy children running over the grass, all vying to find all the markers in the slowest time. Check out some of the pictures, and if you missed out, be sure to join us at some of our other events over the summer details of which will be posted on our website or social media pages.
