HAF Summer Activity Events

My Journey team supported community engagement’s summer activity days throughout August at FBC, Elizabeth Park, Chalfont Park, Woodford Park and Spencers Wood Pavilion.

All events were well attended with 150-200 people from local families coming along each day and thoroughly enjoying all the fun!  We had a large number of children taking part in our orienteering activity with Chalfont being the most popular and the groups kept active the whole time running to find the hidden clues at 12 separate points ending up with prizes of a MJ water bottle, rucksack cover and snapband for their efforts.  Our children’s bike challenge was also a draw with legs exercised on a static bike trying to cycle as far as they could in 60 seconds, with competition for being top spot on the leader’s board meaning some came back to try again and again!  Our trusty red balance bikes were out for pre-schoolers to have a go on and Dr Bike carried out many bike checks to reassure riders their bikes were in a fit condition to ride back home, or as is sometimes the case, taken for a bigger repair with a bike mechanic or shop.

It was lovely engaging with the families and letting them know about all our offerings from My Journey, from balance bike clubs to Over 60s led rides.
