Balance Bike Challenge - 14 October 2021

12 children aged between 2 – 4 years came along to our first Balance Bike Challenge event held on the track at the FBC centre, Finchampstead. The event was run by My Journey Wokingham in conjunction with the Wokingham Borough Council Community Engagement team.

The children had great fun riding round the track on balance bikes, whilst negotiating various obstacles, dropping ping pong balls into a bowl and stopping at the zebra crossing. After completing each lap of the track, each child posted a card with their number on it into the post box and these were counted up at the end. The overall winner, Amelia, completed 13 laps of the track, closely followed by Hazel, Jamie and Inaayah who completed 12 laps each.  Well done to everyone who took part!

All of the young riders were each rewarded with a medal and certificate, together with some prizes of My Journey goodies and sweets, kindly donated by a local supermarket.

If you couldn’t make it this time, don’t forget that we run weekly Balance Bike Clubs for pre-school children at both Finchampstead and Woodley and these will continue indoors during the Winter months. Balance Bike Club is free to attend but we ask that you please book a place online so that we can control numbers.
