Information for Primary School Parents

Active and Sustainable Travel to School

The average primary school journey is just 1.6 miles, which makes it a great opportunity for children to walk, cycle or scoot to school. The school journey is perfect for developing our children’s lifelong road safety skills, increasing their daily exercise, developing their social networks and improving their frame of mind for the start of the school day. For parents it can take the hassle out of finding somewhere to park, the journey time is predictable, you are exposing yourself and your children to significantly less air pollution and reducing air pollution at the school gate/surrounding streets.
